What Technology Is Used In The Department?

  • Java to power our applications with the Spring Framework, and Kafka for our messaging
  • Oracle DB and MySQL DB to persist our data
  • Linuxas the main platform of choice on our AWS public and I2 private cloud
  • Jenkins and Maven to create deployments, with Go to link Continuous Delivery (CD)
  • Ansible to automate app deployment augmented by Python / Bash for scripts
  • Splunk and Sensu for monitoring and alerting
  • KDB+ for our real time data analytics and .NET to manage our Event catalogue
  • Boxever for the decisioning of our group-wide personalisation capability

Experience

  • Able to programme in any language to a competent level
  • Passionate about technology and care about code quality and best practices
  • Keen to contribute towards the vision of our next generation platform
  • Willing to take on new challenges and work on a variety of projects and applications
  • Love collaborating with other developers, and keen to do pair programming
  • You have working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English

What Will You Do?

  • Follow a six-week onboarding programme teaching about the domain and unfamiliar technology
  • Design and develop highly available, resilient, and distributed backend services
  • Track performance and availability of our products to continuously improve our software
  • Trace customers' behaviours and use cases to offer the best experience possible
  • Evangelise code quality and best practices, CD, and automation within an Agile approach
  • Take control of your personal growth within a supportive environment, guided by your mentor
